General Improvements:


1. Instructor Features

    Instructor Dashboard

  • Added a new Dashboard that instructors can choose as their home page. This Dashboard will allow Instructors to aggregate their students' data to view charts and graphs of different averages amongst lab actions/activities over different time frames.
  • The information at the top of the dashboard will display a combination of data from all of the groups that your account has joined. 
  • Below the summary of all groups combined, you will find the data correlating to each individual group. Within the individual group heading you will find a "Students" tab, once you expand this it will display each individual user's data in a bar chart. To temporarily collapse group data, you can select the arrow located to the left of the group name. 
  • To stop displaying data from a group on this Dashboard, visit the group page and make sure the checkbox for "Archive" is selected.

   Ability to Archive Groups

  • Added the ability to Archive old groups. This feature allows you to select which data you would like displayed on the Instructor Dashboard page.

  • Loading student data for large groups can take some time. Archiving allows the instructor to load just the data that is needed.

  • To Archive/Unarchive a group, visit the group page and check the "Archive" box for that group

  • Student lab book data now loads asynchronously so the labs and other pages in the Beyond Labz Portal can be used.

2. Lab Book Enhancements

  • Ability to Import PDF, PNG, and JPG files into the lab book.
  • PDF export processing is faster.
  • Labbooks load faster
  • LabCam integrates directly into lab book data for the instructor.
  • Labbook content is organized by lab sessions (instructors and students)

3. Activities Page

  • We have updated the appearance of the landing page for Activities. When you first select the Activities tab, you will now be displayed with a generic syllabus that you can expand to view all of the material put together for each topic in a subject.
  • To list and search for a specific activity, select the "All Activities" button at the top of the page. This will list all of the Activities Beyond Labz offers, when an Activity is selected it will then open the lab instruction/procedure.

4. General Bug Fixing

  • Several minor bugs in the labs were also fixed.
