Keeping your labs up to date is important to remove any bugs we've discovered in the software as well as allow you to receive any feature updates we release. Reinstalling labs can also fix bugs that may have occurred during installation.

The first thing you'll want to do is delete the current version of your lab. DO NOT DELETE THE CONNECTOR!

  • If you are on Windows - open a file browser, go to your C: drive, go to Program Files, find the "VirtualChemLabWin" folder (or whichever lab you want to update) and delete that folder.
  • If you are on Mac - open your applications folder and drag the lab you want to update to your trash folder.

The second thing you'll need to do is manually quit the connect app. To that:

  • Windows: in the system tray (usually in the lower right corner of the screen) you should see a flask icon. Right-click on that icon and select "Quit".image
  • Mac: at the top of your screen, you should see a flask icon, click on that and select "Quit".

Next, log in to https://gibbs.beyondlabz.com and click "Install" on the lab you just deleted. The most up-to-date version of the lab will be installed on your computer and you'll be good to go!
